NAFA organized free COVID-19 testing for all of its community members. This event was sponsored by the Pima County Health Department and International Rescue Committee from a grant through the Arizona Department of Health Services. This was a simple “PCR” test that helped identify if anyone has an active COVID-19 infection and may be able to spread the disease to others.
The event required no pre-registration and members could walk-in for the test with no doctor’s order required. Anybody in the community ages 5 or older were welcome to get themselves tested.
The event was held here in Christopher Columbus Park in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday, 1/16/2021 between 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
A total of 38 Nepali members showed up to the event and 29 got tested. Results of the test are not shared due to privacy issues. Members who tested during the event are encouraged to contact Pima County Health Department for their results.
